What Frankie is joining
SOMAVAC® is the only smart surgical drain pump: an FDA-cleared, battery-powered device worn discreetly on a belt under clothing that holds continuous, sensor-controlled suction at −100mmHg. It replaces the hand-squeezed Jackson-Pratt bulb, which has been the standard since the early 1970s and loses vacuum as it fills.
Up to four surgical drains connect through one-way connectors in a fully closed system, and fluid collects in a marked bag for non-touch disposal. In a prospective mastectomy study, patients had their drains removed up to 30% sooner: 11.4 days on average versus 16.3 days with JP bulbs.1
Bringing that to surgeons and their practices is exactly the work Frankie has spent his career doing. Welcome to the team.
