Welcoming Keith Gordon, RN as a Senior Clinical Support Team Member

Brief interview with Keith Gordon, RN (Senior Clinical Support) why he chose SOMAVAC® and how he brings years of experience in introducing novel medical devices to practices and patients

Abigail: [00:00:00] Hello Instagram, this is Keith Gordon. He is our new clinical specialist and he’s been here for a month. Congratulations. Thank you. I have a couple of questions I’m going to ask you since it’s been a month. So tell me first, how has it been? How has it been working at silverback?

Keith Gordon: [00:00:21] Oh, the transition here has been great. It’s been very busy. Which is what I like. I like being on the road. I like being in front of patients. And I like speaking with the doctors about this technology.

Abigail: [00:00:32] So you said you’re on the road a lot and it’s been busy. What’s the craziest thing that you’ve seen so far? I know it’s only been a month, but.

Keith Gordon: [00:00:40] It’s just finding out that there’s a surgery and getting packed and getting there.

Abigail: [00:00:45] Getting there? Yeah.

Keith Gordon: [00:00:46] To to provide the education, you know, and support the doctors and provide education to the patients before they get home. Yeah.

Abigail: [00:00:53] You have to do that fast.

Keith Gordon: [00:00:54] You gotta I usually stay I usually stay packed.

Abigail: [00:00:57] Oh, yeah. Oh, I’m sure, I’m sure, I’m sure okay. So next question. What do you think about some of that. The device some of S-vhs.

Keith Gordon: [00:01:07] I think this device is is is really going to be beneficial for, for the hospitals, for, for the patients, the convenience of this device. Having service JP drain for so long and the issues that we had with them that we never had a solution, but now we do. And for a number of cases, this is going to be so much better for the patient. And and so much I think, you know, cost effective for the hospital also. So I’m excited to be a part of the company to help introduce technology. Yeah.

Abigail: [00:01:46] And a technology savvy world.

Keith Gordon: [00:01:49] Yes it is.

Abigail: [00:01:50] We’re creating more technology. Okay, so last question. This is short, but if you could talk to a potential patient about some havoc, if they could potentially use it, what would you say. What would you say to them.

Keith Gordon: [00:02:03] I would say that the convenience of our device is, is going to make them more willing to, to get up and move even once they’re allowed to move, move outside the house. Our device is is well hidden. It allows them a lot more mobility to to to get out and move more. It’s, it’s hopefully going to decrease the time that they have to have drains hopefully. So all of those are, are significant. I feel like significant benefits you know, to the patient

Abigail: [00:02:43] Along with not no spilling anymore.

Keith Gordon: [00:02:46] No spilling. Yeah. It is really a very well engineered product in that everything is self-contained. As a nurse, I’ve dealt with hemophiliacs, I’ve dealt with JP drains for.

[00:02:59] A long time, and I have spilled

Keith Gordon: [00:03:04] Fluid on on myself, on patients, on on sheets, in beds, no matter how careful you are sometimes, sometimes those things just happen. And this, some of that takes care of that, that piece of the issue that, that those other products have. Yeah.

Abigail: [00:03:27] Yeah. Well, that’s a cool device. And we’re looking forward to giving it to everybody. We’re selling it to whoever needs it. Well, I’m.

Keith Gordon: [00:03:36] Excited to be a part of this company. And you know, fortunately for me being on the road as much and working with the number of doctors that I’ve been fortunate enough to work with and the patients and also being able to follow up with the patients, seeing the excitement on their face, seeing the text I get of how they love this device. Yeah. Really drives me to stay on the road more, right?

Abigail: [00:04:04] Of course. Of course it would. It makes recovery a little bit easier, I guess.

Keith Gordon: [00:04:08] You could say. I think significantly easier. Yeah.

Abigail: [00:04:11] All right. Well, thanks for sitting with me. And congratulations on your one month. Thank you. You’re.
